The Bethesda Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS)
{11700 Falls Road, Potomac MD.}
Sunday, Feb. 22nd, 2015 from 11:15 AM - 2 PM
THE VISIT: Would start at 11:15 AM with a short presentation & discussion to learn more about the beliefs, practices and history of the “Church of the Latter-day Saints.*” We would then move to the community’s worship called a “Sacrament Meeting” (From 12:10 PM through 1:30 PM) and then continue for a period of fellowship and dialogue with the LDS community over a light lunch.

WHAT IS MORMONISM: The movement was originally founded in the U.S. by the Mormon prophet, Joseph Smith in the 1820s. After Smith’s death and a long period of persecution, most of the Mormon community followed Brigham Young west on a long and arduous journey to Utah, reminiscent of the Hebrew Exodus in the Old Testament. They called themselves “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.” The word Mormon* is originally derived from the “Book of Mormon,” one of the faith’s religious texts.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED: To register, please send an email to mcicmd@gmail.com by Friday February 20th indicating the names of the participants, as well as an e-mail address and phone-number. We will then contact you with any additional details. (Please plan to arrive by around 11 AM so we can start our visit in a timely fashion at 11:15 AM.)
Address of Church: 11700 Falls Road, Potomac MD. (It is at the intersection of Glen Rd and Falls Rd. There is ample parking on the grounds and on immediate streets.)
